Solar Skin is a breakthrough technology solution that has the potential to revolutionise solar power. It takes solar panels into the future of colour, curves and creation without using rare earth metals and hazardous chemicals – unlike common silicon solar panels. Solar Skin is developed by global leaders in solar photovoltaic energy technology and fire protection. With clear advantages over older solar technology and non-renewable energy, Solar Skin has the potential to lead the clean energy future.
Solar Skin was created as the new generation photovoltaic arm of its parent company Flame Security International - with the substantial support of the Australian Government through the Cooperative Research Centres Project Grant Round 8 (CRC-P8).
With CRCP-8 and FSI, Solar Skin and UNSW are working with State Governments, other research organisations in Sweden and Australia as well as range of industry partners, manufacturers and distributors to invent and commercialise fire resistant ‘Next Generation Perovskite Solar Polymer Membrane’. More on this can be seen here at the Australian Government CRC Project Selection Outcomes (see Successful CRC Projects Round 8).
